International Children's Book Day is an annual
event, which is held on around April 2, the
birth date of Hans Christian Andersen. It is
sponsored by the International Board on
Books for Young People (IBBY). According to
the IBBY Web site, "International Children's
Book Day (ICBD) is celebrated to inspire a
love of reading and to call attention to
children's books." The 2015 sponsor of International Children's Book Day is IBBY United
Arab Emirates. The theme is "Many Cultures
One Story." The poster, which was designed
by Nasim Abaeian, shows a little girl with a
butterfly net catching books that are floating
in the sky. Marwa Obaid Rashid Al Aqroubi is
the author explaining the theme.

SONG OF THE LIVERPOOL (ENGLAND) SOCCER TEAM

MADISON (WISCONSIN) (BOY) SCOUTS DRUM &
BUGLE CORPS SINCE THE 1970’S
It only takes a reminder to breathe,
a moment to be still, and just like
that, something in me settles,
softens, make space for imperfection.
The harsh voice of judgment drops to
a whisper and I remember again that
life isn’t a relay race; that we all will
cross the finish line; that waking up
to life is what we were born for. As
many times as I forget to catch
myself charging forward, without
even knowing where I am going, that
many times I can make the choice to
stop, to breathe, and be, and walk
slowly into the mystery.
