Brookhill Country Club 2 015 S P R I N G N E W S L E T T E R Join us as we celebrate our 57th year! Welcome to 2015!! It’s already that time of year! Your Board of Directors are busy planning for the 2015 summer opening of Brookhill pool! If the weather cooperates, you will see work beginning in early March. We have many plans in the works to make Brookhill even better! We are excited to announce that dues will remain the same for the seventh year in a row. Our goal as a Board is to make Brookhill a family friendly environment and we strive to make it affordable to everyone! The best way to do this is to attract new members. We have a limited number of new memberships available for the 2015 season. Ask yourself who you know from church, school, athletic events or in your neighborhood who would have just as much fun as you at Brookhill this summer. Then ASK THEM TO JOIN!!! You are our best form of advertising! Invite them to our Sneak Peek night on Thursday, May 21st and show them around. As always please free to email or call us with any questions. Don’t forget to visit the MEMBER AREA on the website and complete your 2015 MEMBERSHIP UPDATE form by April 1st. Summer will be here before you know it!!! ANNUAL FEES DUE: MAY 15TH Brookhill 2015 “Fun Facts” Your Board Members are elected volunteers that pay the same dues as everyone else. The average volunteer time a Board member works to get the pool open in the Spring are most weekends and some week days from March to May. Some put in 12 hour days to get everything ready for opening day which we have never missed in 56 years! Brookhill spent $4,603 on Chorine and other chemicals to keep the pool clean last summer. It took $3,630 and about 100 man hours to paint the two pools last summer-mostly volunteer. Over $26,000 was spent on capital improvements over the last two years to keep BHCC beautiful. We paid $1920 in credit card usage fees for 2014. That equals almost 4 family memberships. From April 25th to August 25th last summer we used 754,732 gallons of water which is equal to 8,050,475 cups of pop or beer from the bar or snack bar. By law we have to pay $154 per year to ASCAP to play the radio over the loud speaker. We spent about $1,800 on soap, trash bags, paper towels, and toilet paper last summer. The snack bar sold the equivalent of 297,734 Laughy Taffy’s last year! In spite of the greatness of the managers, lifeguard & snack bar staff, swim & dive coaches, they STILL can’t control the rain, wind, temperature, surges in electricity-such as lightening, humidity, any bug population, or small human bodily functions! While this would be great if we could...we can’t -so don't blame us for Mother Nature’s mood swings :) Brookhill Country Club * 1900 Cole Creek Drive * Omaha, NE 68114
