BHS hockey golf flyer 2015
High School ice hockey is a club sport not supported by the school system financially. The players and parents pay for all leagues, equipment and any tournament fees for the team. Brookwood has won state three of the past four years, and because of this success, we have been invited to Nationals in Arnold, Missouri. But this is HOCKEY and we all pull together and find ways to make it work. Please come join us on May 11th for 18 holes of golf and help make the 2015-2016 season one to remember. Brookwood Ice Hockey Golf Tournament May 11, 2015 GSHL, Georgia State Hockey League, handles all scheduling of games, playoffs and a special Senior Showcase for graduating players. The cost for each team is $9000, not including any extra practice ice time. An hour of practice is $350. All of our coaches and GSHL board are unpaid volunteers. For the past couple of years Norcross High School has joined Brookwood because they did not have enough players to field a team of their own. This year Brookwood had a single A and double AA team, 36 players. Brookwood added a few other schools to their team along with Norcross Parkview, Dacula, Duluth, Centennial, St. Pius, and Greater Atlanta Christian. While it was wonderful to have so many players and two teams, the cost was $18000 for the teams and we only could afford twelve practices, seven of which we shared with another team.
