Remove all of the assembly pieces from the birdhouse and the plastic bag, then slide the clear back panel onto the birdhouse. (Fig. 1) STEP 2 The 2-way mirror film allows you to see the birds inside the birdhouse, without the birds seeing you. Make sure the inside of your window is clean prior to adhering the 2-way mirror film. Spray the window with water or use a wet cloth on the area you plan to mount the birdhouse. Make sure the tab side is on top and facing you for easy removal. Apply the 2 way mirror film, then use a dish cloth or paper towel to dry the 2-way mirror film. Slowly peel away the backing of the 2-way mirror film at the tab. (Fig. 4) Insert the perch by lining the notch with the keyhole groove on the front of the birdhouse. If an insert is needed, snap the desired sized insert into the opening. H. 1” STEP 3 Insert the top two suction cups onto the back keyhole slots onto the back of the birdhouse then slide the suction cups up to lock in place. (Fig. 3) To insert the third suction cup on the bottom, simply twist and gently push into place. The curtain card (Fig. 5) minimizes disturbances of indoor lights. Clean and dry the inside window before attaching the suction cup. Moisten the suction cup with warm water then firmly press the suction cup in the middle onto the glass. Stick the suction cup to the glass above the 2-way mirror film (if used). Hang the curtain card on the hook and simply slide the card at a 90° to 180° angle to watch the birds. Fig. 3 STEP 4 Select an outside window in the house that is not an old wavy glass, as it may distort your view of the birds. Place the birdhouse at least five feet above ground, so it is not easily accessible to predators, such as squirrels and cats. Clean and dry the outside window before attaching the birdhouse. Moisten the suction cups with warm water in a circular motion to ensure the liquid is evenly distributed, then firmly press each suction cup in the middle onto the glass. If your birdhouse is going to be exposed to weather below 30°, we recommend attaching the double-sided tape on the back of the birdhouse near the suction cups. Fig. 4 Fig. 5 PLACEMENT Depending on your geographical region, place your birdhouse by February or mid to late March. For best results, face your birdhouse north or east to minimize exposure to the afternoon heat. Do not place your birdhouse near a busy street or in an area with constant human activity. Do not be discouraged if birds do not immediately nest in your MY SPY BIRDHOUSE, as it may take the birds some time to find it.
