Program Calendar
For 21 years, providing
professional programs
of emotional support,
education and hope for
people impacted by
cancer, at no charge,
so that no one faces
cancer alone.
Happy Spring! We have quite a few new programs that we’ve recently added to the program
schedule at various locations. We have added a Tai Ji and Qigong class as well as Mindful
Meditation every Monday at our Gilda’s Club in Warminster location. We have also started
a new “Open Arts Studio” program led by our new program coordinator Joy Bullard at
our Ridgeland in Philadelphia location. Joy is a board certified music therapist as well as
a licensed professional counselor.
Lastly, we have added another “Living with Cancer Support Group” every Thursday
from 10-11:30am at our Ridgeland location. We hope you will attend and take advantage
of these wonderful programs we are now able to offer at multiple locations.

Every Monday • 10-11am • Tai Ji and Qigong
Join Beth Rose every Monday morning for some gentle
mind and body exercises. Tai Ji and Qigong are excellent
forms of low impact exercises with the added benefits
of training the mind to achieve higher levels of focus,
improving metabolism, loosing up joints to allow for
smooth Qi flow and building root, center and balance.
Every Monday • 2-3:30pm • Mindful Meditation
Mindful meditation, led by Dr. Seran Schug, is a simple
and gentle practice that engenders inner strength and
resilience. In this body/mind group, we will practice
mindfulness meditation as well as engage in a variety
of creative relaxation and contemplative exercises.
We will also talk about how to embody mindfulness in
our daily lives so that we can face challenges with less
reactivity and greater calm and purpose. Through this
personal and communal experience, we hope to strengthen
the sense of self-integrity and wholeness that may be
fragile during times of illness and distress.

Writing Workshop for Health and Healing
There are many scientific studies that suggest expressive
writing – when you write not just about an incident, but
also your feelings about the incident – is healing, physically,
mentally, and spiritually. In this workshop you’ll be lead
through a variety of stimulating and inspiring writing
exercises that will invite you to share your feelings and
memories (although you don’t have to read your writing
to the group if you don’t want to.) As well as being
therapeutic, the writing is also a great deal of fun.
No writing experience or expertise is necessary.
Janet Falon is an award-winning writer and writing
teacher, and has been teaching expressive writing for
many years. She is the author
of four books, one of which is
about journaling. She teaches
in many venues, including
The University of Pennsylvania,
and is a believer in the healing
power of self-expression.

Lecture: Walking Through the Social Security Disability
Insurance Process with Attorney Rachel Stevens
Rachel Stevens returns to provide an in-depth presentation
on the SSDI/SSI application process, how to fill out the
forms, common mistakes people make, and tips for a
better application. This lecture is for anyone in the process
of filing for SSDI, those that have experienced denial for
SSDI and for those that may need to apply down the road.
Ms. Stevens is a personal injury and Social Security attorney.
Wednesday, May 27 • 10-11:30am
Journaling and Beyond:
Writing for Health and Happiness
Janet Falon is an award-winning writer and writing teacher,
and has been teaching expressive writing for many years.
She teaches in many venues, including The University
of Pennsylvania, and is a believer in the healing power
of self-expression. There are certain types of writing, like
journaling, which are known to be physically, emotionally,
and spiritually healthful. We’ll do journaling exercises;
even if you’ve journaled, this class offers a new way to
look at it. And we’ll use some of the journaling exercises
as a springboard for more public “creative” writing.
No writing experience or expertise is necessary.
Come to learn and have fun with words.
Please call the clubhouse to check on availability
for computer assistance.
