NEOP Project Coordinator
The focus of the NEOP Program Coordinator is to support the increased awareness of healthy eating and physical
activity among low-income populations. The coordinator plans, organizes, directs, oversees and manages the
program operations of California Department of Public Health SNAP-Ed/NEOP Nutrition Education Obesity
Prevention (NEOP) Program in Napa County. The coordinator supervises staff, volunteers and interns who
conduct program activities and clerical operations. Program content is delivered through educational displays,
individual consultations, experiential and group workshops that empower and enable community members to
increase their ability and skills to make healthy choices for themselves and their families. This position requires a
candidate with excellent oral communication skills and a passion for nutrition education.
DUTIES
Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the coordinator’s essential functions are:
• Become fully versed in NEOP program Scope of Work goals, objectives, activities and expected outcomes.
• Plan and implement projects that fit the grant's activities.
• Coordinates and facilitates NEOP related meetings, trainings and collaboratives.
• Gather and analyze information to determine new and ongoing program needs.
• Monitor progress and oversee required NEOP quarterly and annual reporting along with all documentation and all
submittals of materials
• Initiate and sustain partnerships with local businesses, partners and organizations that support program goals.
• Maintain thorough and accurate records and complete required monthly reports, and inform evaluation activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes in order to deliver the highest quality experience possible, and follow
through with these improvements as assigned.
• Facilitate and manage Policy, System and Environmental activities as defined in the NEOP integrated Work Plan and
Scope of Work.
• Develop and foster relationships among key stakeholders to progress NEOP initiative and create healthy environments.
Others responsibilities include:
• Supervise, train, assign and evaluate the Health Educator’s performance.
• Supervise health educators, volunteers and interns, overseeing schedule, timesheets and activities.
• Plan, organize and supervise program and clerical operations.
• Analyze and implement NEOP program policies and procedures and determine program impact.
• Attend local, regional and State collaboratives.
• Provide individual and group nutrition education classes and cooking demonstrations as needed.
• Distribute nutrition education materials and engage clients in interactive displays (including sample healthy food
demonstrations).
• Coordinate and staff health fairs or NEOP signature events.
• Preforms other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Degree in Public Health, Nutrition or health-related field preferred.
• Experience with or knowledge of community nutrition education programs a plus.
• Bilingual (English and Spanish) speaking preferred.

Excellent interpersonal skills - comfortable working with diverse groups of people and engaging students in an
interactive class setting.
Excellent writing, presenting, and computer skills (Microsoft Office).
Appropriate organizational and communication skills to fulfill job duties.
Experience following and meeting program goals and objectives required.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to coordinate activities across various departments.
Cooperative, friendly, and helpful attitude with clients, coworkers, and volunteers. Ability to work closely with others
to ensure a positive, constructive environment.

• Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, availability to work weekends, evenings and travel, as necessary.
• Must have valid California driver's license and insurance and provide own reliable transportation.
Proposed Hours: 40 Hours per week (evening and weekend hours as needed) Salary: Based on qualifications + medical and

on funding. Office located in Solano County Offices in Vallejo. Requires frequent field travel throughout Napa and Solano
Counties and some overnight travel. ServSafe Food Handler Certification required. This is an At-Will Employment
