Report to the Driver & vehicle Standards Dept (La Route de Veulle, La Collette, St Helier, JE1 3UE ) You will need to make an appointment for a vehicle inspection. An inspection date will be given to you. On the date given your vehicle will be inspected and registration issued. You will not be able to register the vehicle with the Driver and Vehicle Standards Department until Customs clearance has been made and the relevant duties paid. Documents needed to register a vehicle If you want to register any motor vehicle in Jersey, you need to produce the following original documents (faxes, emails, scans or photocopies of documents are not accepted): • Evidence of identity and permanent residency in Jersey, eg a current Jersey driving licence • A certificate of insurance or cover note in your full name. An insurance disc is not accepted • A Jersey Customs import declaration. This is not required if you're a Customs approved trader. You may complete the declaration online • Motor caravans also require a letter from the Department of Environment regarding the required permit Vehicle examination If your vehicle passes the examination, you'll need to produce the following at the Driver and Vehicle Standards registration office, La Collette: • A completed VRD 2 application form (available from the DVS registration office). • The registration fee of (£26.05). • The registration document or certificate of title or certificate of permanent export for the vehicle Documentation You should ensure you have the following documentation for customs and for registration • Original vehicle registration document in full form. • Sales invoice for the vehicle. • Proof of Guernsey residency. • Driving Licence.
