Want to better understand the role you play in building inclusive excellence and leveraging the benefits and unique
contributions of a diverse workforce on your campus?
Join us Thursday afternoon, June 11, from 12:45 – 3:45 for a special diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) workshop.
This workshop is an interactive and experiential learning workshop to build tools that will help you navigate, foster and
shape diversity, equity and inclusion efforts at your institution.
Sandy Cooper, Assistant Vice President of Human Resources for Oklahoma State University will be co-facilitating this
workshop. Sandy has more than 20 years of experience in HR and holds her SPHR. She is a graduate of Leadership Tulsa
and active with CUPA-HR serving as a conference speaker. Sandy currently serves on the National Diversity, Equity, and
Inclusion (DE&I) committee. Sandy will be joined by fellow DE&I committee member Breion Rollins, Retirement Services
Manager at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.
Diversity and Inclusion Professionals who could benefit from this workshop may register for the DE&I workshop only for
a $40.00 registration fee. This option is only available for the DE&I workshop and does not include lunch or access to any
other sessions.

below on two tracks. You don’t have to decide on any one track. You can come and go from the sessions as you please

Private Exchanges
Presented by Edward Pierce and Leo Tokar with support from Lockton Companies
o The press surrounding private exchanges has been tremendous. Many reports claim that they will solve
employer's health care issues and will become the dominate form of purchasing insurance. Despite over
50% of employers indicating they will consider using a private exchange in the next 3 years, few
understand what they truly are. The presentation will offer an objective review of private exchanges'
role in a benefit strategy, various structures, costs, risks and ways they can support an employer's goals.
This will provide attendees with the basic tools to evaluate private exchanges and determine their role
in future benefit program design.
Human Resources Generalist Track

Employee Resource Groups (ERGs): A partner for innovation and development in business and academia
Panel with interactive dialogue and audience discussion led by Crystal Richards with support from TIAA-CREF
o Understand how companies have built the business value of their ERG programs and how to apply what
they have learned in an academic setting.
o Understand the core strategies and practices that build value in an ERG program.
o Hear concrete examples of how businesses and employees have benefitted by evolving the ERG
program.
o Understand a pathway and process for moving ERGs beyond a focus on social/networking to include
contribution to the business of the institution and staff engagement.



