EYC on April 12: Capture the Purple Penguin
On Sunday evening, April 12, from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m., Holy
Family youth will gather at the church to play the youth group
game par excellence: Capture the Purple Penguin.
Jr. and Sr. EYC have long competed for the elusive Purple
Penguin, and this year is no different. Last fall, for the first
time in recent memory, the junior group triumphed over the
seniors. But will they continue to bask in the sweet glory of
victory—or will the seniors emerge from the ashes, like an
ancient Phoenix, and retake their oft-won title? You’ll have to
come in order to find out. See you there!

CROP Walk
Youth Sunday
On Sunday, April 19, EYC will join in the Chapel Hill /
Carrboro CROP Walk, and our own Bayley R. is the
captain for this event. We will walk to raise money for
Chapel Hill’s Inter-Faith Council (IFC), and because
there are hungry kids in our community (25% of funds
raised stay in the community). Whole families are invited
to be a part of this. If you’d like to walk, plan to meet in
the Carrboro Commons at 2:30 p.m. If not, then think
about sponsoring our group by stopping by the table in

At all three liturgies on Sunday, May 10, youth will take
part in leading our worship by serving as ushers, lectors,
acolytes, and in offering a response to the Gospel.
Youth Sunday is a well-established Holy Family tradition
and is a wonderful opportunity to involve our younger
members in worship, and to celebrate the conclusion of
another year together. The event will include a reception
between the last two liturgies, and further details will be
provided in the coming weeks. For now, speak with your
child about how s/he can be involved in Youth Sunday.
