Yarns Down Under will be hosting our 5th Annual Weekend Knitting Retreat at Cave Hill Resort in Moodus, CT Thursday, July 9 thru Sunday, July 12. Cave Hill Resort is family owned and operated. The grounds are spacious with a large swimming pool, and a small pond complete with rowboats. There is a State Park nearby overlooking the Salmon River for walking. Cabins are available as double, triple occupancy. The rooms are clean and neat, each with their own bathroom. All linens are provided with the exception of pool towels. You don’t even have to make your bed! All your meals are provided, but we encourage all to bring their own snacks and beverages. There is always something to do, however, all activities are optional and the emphasis is on kicking back, relaxing and of course, KNITTING! Again this year, we are offering a chance to customize your stay at Cave Hill Resort. You may choose a three- or four-day experience. If you choose to attend three days, you will check in at noon on Friday. If you choose to stay four days, you will check in at noon on Thursday. All will depart on Sunday of that weekend. In addition to resort fun, there will be nightly entertainment, s’mores, campfires and our annual Saturday night fashion show. There is no limit to the number of knitted or crocheted items each person enters. We all love for you to enter those items that didn’t turn out as planned, what better way to learn what “not” to do! This year, you may enter pictures of any knitted items you generously gave away. We will have a projector to show your pictures during the fashion show.
