Premier Yarns and World Vision Launch National Partnership
at CHA 2014 Conference & Trade Show
World Vision, one of the world’s largest humanitarian organizations, is partnering with Premier Yarns, an
international manufacturer and distributor of high-quality yarns, to improve the lives of children around the world
through World Vision’s “Knit for Kids” program.
With this partnership, Premier Yarns is providing yarn customers an opportunity to help children around the
world with their passion for knitting. Premier Yarns will showcase the partnership at the Craft and Hobby
Association (CHA) show, held January 10 – 14, 2014, at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.
The partners have a goal of collecting 100,000 handmade knitted items in 2014.
Knit for Kids is a nationwide program that unites thousands of volunteer knitters to fight poverty with their
knitting needles. Volunteers knit sweaters, caps, blankets and more for children in need. World Vision collects and
distributes the handmade items worldwide. For millions of children, the handmade item is a chance at better
health. It’s protection and warmth from freezing temperatures. And it’s a symbol of support for a better future.
"We’re thrilled to be partnering with Premier Yarns on this important program to help provide warm clothing and
comfort to children around the world," said Brad Beegle, Director, Retail Partnerships at World Vision U.S.
"Premier Yarn’s broad customer base and reach will help dramatically grow contributions."
World Vision’s Knit for Kids program provides handmade donated clothing to children around the world for basic
survival. Last year, over 66,000 donated sweaters were distributed to children in need in the U.S. and
internationally. World Vision field offices report that 900,000 children need sweaters; more than 1 million infant
caps and blankets are needed to help the most vulnerable “survive to age five.”
The public is invited to collect 100,000 hand-knit donations in 2014 to help children around the world.
