Yarn in Motion by Südwolle pursues a stringent policy of environmental sustainability and social responsibility. Practices
in terms of quality, production, human resources management and training all meet international standards. German
socio-economic criteria have been adapted and international ecological guidelines implemented. The company applies
the same set of corporate governance principles at all our international locations. On a regular basis we test the quality
of our production in the labs next to our spinning mills and dye houses. In addition, independent labs oversee all
processsing steps.

Yarn in Motion by Südwolle represents our circular knitting yarn range for merino wool. A range of supply-chains
with special value added through authenticity and traceability from all main wool producing countries can be offered.
Stable partnership forms the foundation of our success. Close cooperation is essential for an effective global supply
network with optimized purchasing processes. It enables us to make contiuous improvements of quality, costs and
logistics.
The expertise of our buying team members is by no means limited to merino wool: silk, cashmere and innovative
synthetic fibres from a range of suppliers are sourced as well.
With the purchase of a merino sheep station in Victoria, Australia, in 2002 an even more direct contact with farmers
has been established and brought us closer than ever to the origins of merino wool. The farm allows us to set standards in terms of quality and good processability of merino wool with new concepts in grazing and animal husbandry
being developed. Despite the number of roughly 20,000 merino sheep, the farm supplies only a small fraction of the
material sourced by Yarn in Motion by Südwolle.
The product.
Yarn in Motion by Südwolle focuses on merino wool which unites
optimum functionality with comfort:
Insulation from heat or cold
Moisture shield with the capacity to absorb up to a third of it‘s volume in water without feeling wet
Outstanding elasticity due to the structure of the fibers
Easy care, resistance to wrinkling and – thanks to the natural oil in the merino wool – stain resistance
Refined merino products are machine-washable and suitable for driers with Total Easy Care (TEC)
Pleasant wearing: light and non-scratching
Resistance to odors
Naturally flame retardant, antistatic
Natural material: long-lasting, renewable, recyclable
Trouble-free technical handling throughout all processing phases right up to the manufacture of the
finished garment
By adding other fibres we can adapt or enhance the properties
of merino wool according to the customers special needs.
Yarn in Motion offers solutions for:
Next-to-skin, special products for work-wear and socks.
Finest wool of 16 micron and up is used in a range of yarns from
Nm 90 to Nm 12, in raw white or dyed, conventionally or compact spun.
