1. Decide on your story and write a script
. Think of an
interesting subject. It is easier to write and
you are passionate. A script outlines every direct a video if
place in your video from sounds and smel thing that takes
ls, to dialogue
and behaviour.
2. Nominate your cast, arrange your prop
s and
on your filming location. How many chara decide
cters are in
your video? Can your family and friends help
the various parts? Props and costumes can by acting
make all the
difference to a video; they can change a story
from makebelieve to seemingly real. Where will you
be filming your
video? If your video takes place outside reme
mber to take
the weather into account. If a location is
too dark or too
light this will affect your video.
3. Organise your music and sound effec
ts. Decide on what
and when you want your background and
sound effects.
It is a good idea to build this into your script
. Pre-record
music and sound effects from the TV or radio
and play
during the relevant times in your video.
4. Have fun with visual effects. Need to
build
monster or spaceship? Why not film a mon a life-size
person in a costume among miniature cars ster teddy or
house? This will make the monster appear or even a dolls
bigger than it is.
5. Practice makes perfect. Run through
your
start to finish without filming. It is a good entire video from
a number of times to ensure that when youidea to do this
start filming
there is less chance of having to retake. Reme
mber to time
your film. If it is too long, look to cut out
sections.
6. Start filming. Borrow a camera from
an adult
the camera battery is fully charged and you . Make sure
space on the memory to record your movi have plenty of
e.
7. Make some popcorn, sit back and enjoy
. Once you are
happy with your video why not invite your
family and
friends around to watch it?
Get crafty tip
Why not create movie text by writing the name
of your video as well as the
names of the actors, directors and assistants on
cardboard? Film these boards
before and after the movie.
