Useful Sheath Tips:
o
Maynard’s fillet knives have very sharp tips, and care is needed the first few times you guide the tip into the sheath.
With use, the sheath will adapt to the handle and the knife will go right in place.
o
If your sheath is too stiff, you can try putting wax on it and heating it in a warm oven for 1-2 hours. Remember that
leather softens with use.
o
If your sheath is too loose, you can thoroughly wet your sheath and then let it dry overnight with your carefully
waterproofed knife inside (generously oil the blade and wrap securely with plastic wrap/tape).
o
The pointy end of the Bristol Bay sheath goes in first; remember to hold the strap out of the way.
Logo Etch
Unlike most stores, the knives and ulus sold through Local Showcase are electro-etched with the DMKU
logo and text “Maynard Linder, Homer, Alaska.” This logo holds up through regular use, but will come
off if scrubbed with steel wool or scotch brite.
Shipping
Items are shipped at cost by USPS mail, with delivery confirmation (Minimum $8). We self-insure our
packages, except special, irreplaceable items.
Payments
Items are usually shipped with payment due on delivery. Payment can be made by check to Local
Showcase. We also accept PayPal, Visa, MC, and Discover.
