Senior Development Officer, Major Gifts Based in Toronto, Ontario, the Senior Development Officer will provide major gift support to the Director Major Gifts & Planned Giving and work with the Director Major Gifts & Planned Giving to develop the strategies required to meet revenue goals. This will involve identifying high net worth donors, building and cultivating relationships and securing philanthropic commitments from individuals, corporations and foundations Candidates with the following attributes are encouraged to apply: 5+ years Major Gift fundraising experience with a proven track record of closing major gifts at the $10,000 level and above Knows how to successfully solicit, cultivate, secure and steward donors Possesses solid planning, project management and time management skills Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact in a meaningful way with senior volunteers and donors Excellent and succinct verbal and written communication skills A naturally engaging and collaborative approach to building relationships with prospects and donors Adaptable and thrives in a fast paced environment A self-directed self-starter who can set priorities, be pro-active and anticipate the next steps The ability to recognize opportunities and react and adapt to changing situations Collaborative, inclusive and a ‘hands on’ team player Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through Energetic, resourceful, highly committed and results oriented An undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience If someone you know may be interested in this position please feel free to forward this document – we’d be pleased to connect with them.
