Welcome to the Crediton Festival 2015!
What a talented town Crediton is. I can’t think of any other time in my 30 years
here when there’s been such an exciting and wide range of creative and community
activity: DRAMA MUSIC SPORT VISUAL ARTS LITERATURE FOODandDRINK YOUTH
EVENTS TRY IT OUT HISTORY COMEDY DANCE, it’s all right here on our doorstep.
I think back over the long winter months of voluntary preparations by the different
groups in this brochure, who will finally be putting their work on show over the four
weeks of the Festival. They’re not forced to, they just do it, do it well, and they love
sharing it. That’s what makes it a great town to live in. In these four festival weeks,
with their intergenerational theme, there will be over 50 events being put on by
some 35 different groups, a fantastic achievement. The High Street flags will be up
again to promote our town (see if you can spot the new ones!)
We thank our sponsors who have supported us in bringing this festival to you and
we also thank Olivia James Design for acting as ticket agents. Many events are
free, others have modest charges, we hope you enjoy as many as possible. Oh, and
a quick reminder of the town’s very first Short Story Competition! The winners
will be awarded on July 11th, our Festival Finale party night with fantastic free
entertainment from 7:30 ‘til midnight, why not come and cheer them on?
At many events you will see volunteers from our two adopted
charities, Age Concern Crediton and the Crediton Youth Collective.
These are still challenging times for many people and we hope you

Operation Belinda tells the story of how
