In the 1950s there was an Internist who admitted his patients to UH by
the name of Bronson; he got the idea of taking all the Medicine interns to

the Cleveland Indians home opener. This was a prominent game - the
Angel Qin
Indians played in the old stadium that attracted nearly 70,000 people. A
new tradition was officially started in the 1950s when all the interns got

the day off to go to the Indians home opener - and later this became
known as Bronson's day.

AMBULATORY CHIEF
In the late 1990s the Indians moved to a smaller stadium, their

enthusiastic performance attracted big crowds, which made it challenging

to obtain 60 tickets in a block to the home opener. Since then Bronson's
day was celebrated by going to the Indians game in May.
