Dancing Arts Academy 2015 Student Recital 2015 Recital Packet DRESS REHEARSAL Thursday, June 11th, 2015 4:00pm – 8:30pm at the Marshall Middle School 15 Floyd Street Billerica, MA 01821 • • • • 4:00 5:00 5:10 7:00 Dance 3 and Teens Curtain Call * All dancers, run through show in program order Performance Company, Dance 2, and all solos Ø * Everyone in the show should rehearse the curtain call at 5:00. Please inform Jackie by email if your dancer has a conflict. * The curtain call is the finale of the show when all dancers take their bow. At rehearsal we do this first so that your dancer can leave once they’ve danced, and not have to wait until the end. Be ready! Ø Please remember to bring all of your costume pieces and accessories to the rehearsal. It’s important to practice on stage in costume! Ø Please be in costume and ready to dance 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time. We will do our best to keep to this schedule and it helps if you are ready to perform. Ø You or another adult should stay at the school to help your Intro to Dance or Dance 1 dancer. In particular between 4:00 and 5:00, and then between 7:00 and 8:30, most of our student assistants will be onstage rehearsing their own dances and not available to chaperone. You are welcome to watch the dress rehearsal from the audience. Ø Recital staff will be available throughout the afternoon to address questions regarding the rehearsal and performance. Any remaining tickets and tshirts will be on sale in the lobby. Ø This dress rehearsal will be a great opportunity to take pictures and videos! Please, no cameras during the actual recital performance. 2015 Recital Packet RECITAL DAY INFORMATION Saturday June 13th, 2015 1:00pm at the Marshall Middle School 15 Floyd Street Billerica, MA 01821 Ø Dancers should arrive in their first costume, wearing their street shoes. Dance shoes should only be worn indoors. It’s easiest to park in the high lot on the side of the building and enter the school through the side door. Ø An adult should accompany the dancer to the dressing room between 12:00 and 12:30 and check the student in with a Recital Staff member. Ø There will be a bake sale and additional ticket sales in the lobby between 12 and 1. The house will open at 12:45pm. Seating is general admission. Ø The recital will begin promptly at 1:00pm. There will be a brief intermission. Ø Please, no cameras during the recital performance. LOCATION The 2015 Dancing Arts Academy recital will be held at the Marshall Middle School in Billerica (15 Floyd St.) The performance will be in the auditorium. 2015 Recital Packet BACKSTAGE GUIDELINES Ø There will be separate dressing rooms for the boys and girls. Recital Staff will be there to sign in dancers prior to the performance and direct them to the rest of their class. During the performance dancers will be backstage and we encourage family members to remain in the audience to support the other dancers un=l the end of the recital. Dancers will not be allowed in the auditorium during the show itself. Check your dancer in for the recital, make sure she has everything she’ll need. Ø Our experienced Recital Staff will be on hand to take care of all hair, makeup, and costume needs throughout the day. Please clearly label all of your costume pieces and accessories and be prepared to leave them with your dancer upon sign in. Water only will be allowed in the dressing room, no food. Make sure your dancer has breakfast and lunch before the show! SHOES AND TIGHTS Ø All students will need the correct footwear discussed in class for the recital. Tights are in stock at Damien’s Dancewear in North Chelmsford and PaJerson’s Backbay Dancewear in Burlington. Ask for Capezio style number 1815 in the color listed in your costume flyer. It’s very important that all students have the same color and brand of =ghts. Let them know you’re a student of Dancing Arts Academy, and you’ll receive 10% off of your purchase. Ø Each class will receive a detailed Costume Info Flyer in May that pertains specifically to their class and costume. This will cover recommended hair styles, makeup colors, footwear, and any accessories that come with the costume. Once you get your flyer, please let me know if you have any ques=ons, so you can be as prepared as possible for rehearsal and recital. Tickets Tickets Tickets! $12 adult -‐ $8 child/senior General Admission Tickets are on sale beginning Saturday, May 2nd. You can pay by cash, check, or credit card. You can also purchase =ckets through our website and they will be ready for pickup at your next dance class. We are offering a $1 discount on =ckets at our Cra\ Fair on May 2nd at the First Congrega=onal Church from 12pm – 4pm.
