A huge congratulations to Rachel Henry. Her literature entry in the National
PTA Reflections contest received an Award of Merit from Florida PTA! She
will be recognized with other state winners on May 2nd at the Florida PTA
awards ceremony in Orlando!

Please join us for an Ice Cream Social/Art Show on May 7th. Come enjoy a cold treat while
viewing the artwork from every DBES student. The entries from the 2014-2015 DBES PTA
Reflections Art Show will also be on display. Your 2015-2016 PTA Board will be voted in to
office. Local community vendors will also be there with exciting summer camp information.
Wiregrass/Wesley Chapel Relay for Life
Please join us for this annual event from 6pm May 8th to 6am May 9th at the Wiregrass High
School football field. People from all around our wonderful community will join together to
celebrate and raise money for this amazing cause! There will be music, games, prizes, themed
laps, and lots of things for sale!
Mother’s Day Cake Decorating
DBES PTA and Publix are again teaming up to provide special heart shaped cakes for Mother’s Day. Forms went out in March and students participating will decorate their cakes during
school hours on May 8th.

Fourth and fifth grade students will be studying Human
Growth and Development in April and May. Fourth
grade will meet the last two weeks of April and fifth
grade will meet the first two weeks in May. Teachers
will use lectures, discussions, videos, and a student
workbooks for the unit. If you wish to preview the
materials, please contact our school nurse, Amy Ponce,
on Mondays or Tuesdays; she will be happy to discuss
the curriculum.
If you do not wish for your child to receive instruction in
this area, please notify your child’s teacher in writing
prior to the start of the unit. More information will be
coming home in Thursday folders.

Although we are done with official Box Top collections

Campbell Soup Labels and Box Tops. They can be turned
in to your child’s teacher. Don’t forget to keep collecting
them over the summer!
