The function room at the Blessington Carriage was trialled, and June's meeting will be at the Smithfield, Meadow Road. Numbers attending meetings have remained steady, with occasional guests joining us. Simon Geller informed us about Space for Cycling at the August meeting and Tom Humphries, Transport Planner at Derby City Council in November told us about the Council's plans for cycling. A ride to commemorate suffragette Alice Wheeldon in conjunction with Cycle Derby in April was unfortunately cancelled. Several publicity events were run-‐ Security events in conjunction with the police at Derby Market Place (25th May) and Derby Park Bikeworks, (7th Feb). Cycle Derby's Big Day out (Cathedral Green -‐ 19th July), Notts & Derby Cyclocross meeting, Markeaton Park on 27th Sept, and Velodrome opening weekend (28/29 March). Cycle Counts were re-‐established during July, thanks to John Palmer, producing some interesting results. Two committee members attended a CTC Campaigns Training day in September, while various members attended other events such as East Midlands Cycle Forum, and Derby Sports Forum, which will allow the group to keep up to date with other groups activities. If you add all the man-‐hours involved, a massive effort, and very useful attribute to cyclists in Derby. Sometimes the greatest challenge is to let them know about it. Stephen Crispin leaves the committee after an important contribution using his experience of other local groups, and we welcome Daryl Coulborn as Newsletter Editor. Thanks to all the present committee, each one of which has made a very important contribution, and are all more then capable of continuing the good work of Derby Cycling Group in representing Derby Cyclists during a continuing period of cycling growth. Although not continuing as chair, I'll still be maintaining a th DCG 2015 AGM Minutes -‐ 19 May 2015 Page 1 strong interest in the activities of the group, and will be continuing to contribute in other ways.
