A great way to try Engineering This intensive two week engineering design course is for girls starting Grades 11 or 12 who may be thinking about a career in engineering. Students will learn how to design and build in a hands-on, fun and practical way. If you are interested in engineering but unsure if it’s right for you, this course will give you a chance to explore this exciting discipline while improving your teamwork, presentation, and computer skills. If you are successful in this course, and later come to Dalhousie for Engineering, this course may be counted as your ENGI 1101 Engineering Design and Graphics credit. "After working with NASA, I'm excited to share my experience with other women interested in careers in engineering." In the Explore Program you will: • • Gain experience in Engineering Design while contributing to a local community project. Use the latest technology to design and build your projects including: 3-‐D printing, Lego Mindstorms and computer aided design software. • Receive advance course credit towards your Dalhousie Engineering degree (some conditions apply). • Develop problem-‐solving, teamwork, leadership and communication skills. • Have fun in a challenging and welcoming environment. Eng. is from San Antonio, Texas and brings a wealth of design and engineering experience to the Explore program. A PhD candidate at Dalhousie Engineering, Libby's interests are in Engineering Education, specifically, looking at the use of Service Learning Projects in engineering curriculum. Her background is in Aerospace Engineering and satellite design.
