perform on the ACT Aspire test

Good news! Research has recently been completed linking the ACT
Aspire performance levels for grades 3-8 in reading and mathematics
with scales from STAR Reading and STAR Math. Now, educators using
STAR assessments can see how students or groups of students are likely
to perform on the ACT Aspire. This data can be viewed by student, class,
grade, or demographic characteristics.

STAR Assessments are:
• Valid and Reliable. Built on research-based learning progressions,
STAR interim tests are the most rigorously developed, tested, and
empirically validated assessments available today.
• Fast. Using item response theory, STAR tests are computer adaptive
and take 20 minutes or less to administer.
• Actionable. STAR Assessments provide a wealth of actionable data
on easy-to-use dashboards and reports.
ACT Aspire assessments use four performance levels: In Need of
Support, Close, Ready, and Exceeding. Students scoring in the Ready
and Exceeding categories would be counted as meeting proficiency
standards for state and federal performance-level reporting.
