In an attempt to answer questions which have surfaced since the original communication I am sending this letter to clarify the district’s response to ongoing enrollment growth in our school community. There are NO planned changes to current school boundaries for Mason Elementary for the 2015 – 2016 school year. The school district is placing two relocatable classrooms at Mason Elementary to temporarily accommodate for growth while we continue to monitor enrollment patterns. Families in established subdivisions or in subdivisions currently experiencing new construction and growth WILL remain at Mason next school year. The only families affected next school year would be those moving into land areas currently not under active development that become active during the summer or over the course of next school year. Homes in these areas would be in a temporary Woodland Elementary boundary and would be required to send their children to Woodland Elementary for the 2015 – 2016 school year. This plan has been developed in an effort to limit disruptions to students and families until a comprehensive boundary review is scheduled and completed based upon data gained from continued enrollment monitoring.
