Announcement Risk Mitigation Training Additional Professional Development Course for AEs, Providers, SCs and SCOs ODP Communication Number: Announcement 032-15 The mission of the Office of Developmental Programs is to support Pennsylvanians with developmental disabilities to achieve greater independence, choice and opportunity in their lives. AUDIENCE: Individuals and Families, Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) Direct Service Providers, Supports Coordinators (SCs), Supports Coordination Organizations (SCOs), Administrative Entities (AE), advocates and other interested parties. PURPOSE: To announce the availability of a two-part webcast course in professional development, Risk Management Roles for Administrative Entities & Providers, and to provide direction on accessing these new online learning opportunities. DISCUSSION: The Risk Management Roles for Administrative Entities & Providers course is a two-part webcast series that is an extension of the SC Role in Mitigating Risk training. The training focuses on the role played by the County, Administrative Entity and Service Providers in risk management; and their shared responsibilities with the Supports Coordinator to recognize and mitigate risk. The lessons promote a common understanding of the critical importance in identifying and mitigating risk for the people we support. This webcast is being made available as Professional Development in preparation for additional planned face-to-face training on Incident and Risk Management for all audiences that is targeted for later this year. The course is now available as part of the Unraveling the Process of Incident and Risk Management series and on the SCC in the Professional Development section.
