At A Glance: DOMTAR’S ESPANOLA MILL Originally founded along the Spanish River in Northern Ontario as a company-owned town in the early 1900s, Espanola was established by the Spanish River Pulp and Paper company. Over the years, the mill changed ownership multiple times until finally being bought by Domtar in 1998. Today, the Espanola Mill is still very much a reflection of the town that it shaped, manufacturing high quality Northern Bleached Softwood Kraft (NBSK) pulp.
