Elizabeth Machines Co. is a family owned business that commenced over 50 years ago. Contrary to common thought, our name is not derived from a family member, but from our first business address which was in Elizabeth Street, Melbourne. We have been supplying industrial sewing machines to the Australian and Pacific Island region since that time and have seen many changes in both technology and the industry as a whole. Like Gammill, we have worked hard to earn a reputation for quality products and outstanding customer service. Taking care of the customer and our expert staff are still fundamental values that drive us in the way we do business, and it is these values and the family environment that have made our business the success it is. We have been supplying Gammill equipment in Australia for more than 15 years. The Gammill product introduced us to the quilting world and we have been fortunate to have travelled to many interesting places in the country and met wonderful people at every stop. It is always a terrific day sharing the excitement of installing a new shiny Gammill for a customer, many of who have waited years to finally get one. Many staff have been with us for over 15 years and our qualified sewing machine technicians all have over 20 years experience. We can say with a great deal of confidence that we provide the best after sales service of any quilting machine dealer not only in Australia, but the world! Every Elizabeth Machines Gammill customer has the peace of mind in knowing that they have purchased through a reputable, long standing family owned business that will be there when needed, today and into the future. USD $31,500.00 Information on Australian Dollar Price Calculation There is a common process we go through with customers when the anxious but exciting time comes to place your order for your new Gammill. Once we have worked through your requirements and helped determine which Gammill model is most suitable for your needs we then are able to immediately calculate the total price for the machine to you in Australian dollars so you know exactly what the total investment cost is, no add ons, no surprises. How the calculation works. The USD pricing on the previous page is Gammill’s standard machine pricing, in recent times Gammill have run a number of special offers which could be a discounted price, free accessories or a combination of both, please check with us to see if there are any specials currently available. Gammill are located in Missouri, USA and for the machines to travel to us safely, they are very well packed into custom built timber crating. Gammill charge USD $650.00 for this crating which needs to be added to your machine cost. Of course, we also need to convert the USD cost to an Australian dollar cost, as you may be aware, the banks unfortunately charge a commission on foreign exchange conversion, so the dollar rate we see advertised daily in the paper or on the news is slightly adjusted down to the banks “sell” rate. We use Westpac Bank so current foreign exchange rates and can be easily viewed at www.westpac.com.au or give us a call to help you through. Then of course, we need to have the machine freighted from Gammill, Missouri - Los Angeles - Australian port - our warehouse - your door. So, the calculation... ! ! ! ! " ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Typical Payment Terms. Gammill require 100% payment prior to shipment, but we understand that is not the preferred way to do business in Australia. With that in mind, we fund 50% of the cost ourselves and ask customers to put the other 50% down as a deposit at time of order. If for some reason you are not able to immediately fund the full 50% deposit, please contact us to try and negotiate a payment term that assists you with the purchase. Ordering Process We try and carry stock of the common selling models, therefore customers delivery time is very prompt, when stock is not available, delivery is usually around 10 weeks from receipt of your order and deposit payment. We will send you a written order confirmation which lists the model, accessories, cost and delivery details of your order. We open an account in our computer system for you where your deposit shows and this account is available for your future use when ordering consumables from us (needles, bobbin, pins etc) Frequently asked questions Q: How much space do I need to have for the machine? A: We would recommend a minimum “comfortable” space of 4.3 metres x 2.4 metres for a 12ft Pivot Access Professional table and 4.3 metres x 2.0 metres for a 12ft HomePro table. This space footprint allows for operator area. Any more than this and you will be fine, any less than this and we’ll need to consider a smaller table and potentially the swivel castor option to help you manage the space. Q: I have never used a long arm quilting machine before, will I be able to “do it”? A: YES ! Every customer starts in the same place as you are, gathering information on the machines arranging a demonstration and working through the model selection. We have assisted customers begin and establish successful quilting businesses for over 13 years. You can do it too! Q: Which model should I choose? A: We are able to guide you through this decision quite easily. We would ask what your ambitions are for the machine and its intended usage. From there we can make recommendations that meet your needs and your budget. Q: How long from time of order until delivery of the machine? A: We generally try to carry the common selling models in stock ready for delivery, but sometimes we sell out or customers order other models which we don’t carry on hand. The typical lead time via sea freight delivery is approximately 10 weeks from receipt of your deposit until delivery is scheduled. Q: How much deposit do we require? A: As we pay Gammill 100% of the cost up front at time of order, we ask customers to deposit 50% of the total cost to us. Therefore, you fund half and we fund the other half to Gammill. The balance is payable either when the machine leaves our site to you or on completion of our installation. We will accept a smaller deposit if necessary in special circumstances, so please discuss this with us if you need a non standard arrangement. Q: Are there any used Gammills available? A: It is quite rare for Gammill machines to become available second hand. We hear on average of one machine changing hands per year, but these are usually sold by a user to one of their customers before we are asked to find a buyer. We sometimes get asked to take trade ins of other brands for a Gammill, but we only deal in Gammill machines. Once people get them, they don’t often let them go! Q: Why is the USD price considerably different to the AUD price? A: Our information pack outlines the price structure and identifies the import costs associated with its purchase. Customers often are not aware of Gammill’s USD $650 crating charge, often underestimate the freight and customs charges, then forget to add 10% GST to the final purchase price. Q: Why can’t I negotiate a discount? A: We are bound by our contract with Gammill that we will not discount the machine prices. Gammill often run special offers where optional devices are included as a bonus special, please ask us if there are any specials currently on offer. Q: Are there any hidden costs or extras I need? A: NO ! We will quote you an all inclusive price to your door with no nasty surprises. Gammill machines are equipped with all the features you need to run your business. Any optional devices you discuss with us will be offering creature comfort value and are not considered necessary for you to use the machine successfully. We again thank you for your enquiry an hope that we have been able to provide you with a clearer understanding of the world class Gammill equipment and the process in making your investment decision.
