The local choice for
Spalding St. Johns
About Jack McLean
As a child of 5, I grew up in a home
where the value of working together
was naturally ingrained. Even if it
was at times learned in failure to
work together it has – to my own
benefit – been well embedded. We
lived on Thompson Close, directly in
the heart of the ward I now seek to
represent. After 10 years on
Thompson Close it is fair to say I had
grown an appreciation for the area. In
time this appreciation became the
foundation of many of my efforts.
As for the nature of my political
background, it has always been
obvious to me that for our country to
support a thriving NHS or reduce tax
for hard working people, we need an
economically stable strategy. I
believe that locally, managing our
economy comes down to factors such
as supporting our smaller independent
businesses in every way we can, and
ensuring enough apprenticeships are
available to provide stability for our
young people and to leave the door
open for the wider job market to gain
full time, full paid jobs. Recently, I
helped produce the local business
community
website
spalding
links.co.uk, with the aim being to
jump on the social media bandwagon
locally and make sure our small
business are getting the exposure they
need. We are proud to announce that
after two months we have had
overwhelming support from over 250
John Hayes and our team demonstrating how we plan to help support local
businesses on ‘Spalding Links’.
local businesses, from ‘Spalding
Town Centre Manager’ Dennis
Hannant and even from John Hayes
MP.
As some may already be aware, my
concerns for litter in our town have
become among the most vocal
messages portrayed in late 2014.
Over the period of three months I had
helped resolve and raise awareness of
a number of local grot spots, helped
portray a clear message for local
people and even directly resolve
many instances of fly tipping. The
months that followed saw one of the
largest clean up campaigns in our
district, the ‘Pride in South Holland’
campaign.
I hope I can count on your vote on
May 7th to help ensure a prosperous
future for Spalding and the district. In
the meantime, I hope you will enjoy
the race to the general election.
