Valley Oak Teams Up With Furry Friends
Valley Oak Credit Union has teamed up with the local Society for the Prevention of
Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) to provide homeless pets with supplies to keep them
happy and healthy.
From July 1 through September 30 members may drop off items such as food,
money, toys, bedding, treats, and other donations to the decorated barrels in each
branch lobby. Members may also aid our furry friends by helping to feed the
animals, clean their kennels, or simply by giving them time and attention at the
local Valley Oak SPCA. Please click here to see the SPCA's full wish list.
.
A non-profit with locations throughout the world, the
SPCA works to promote the humane treatment of
animals, educate the community on responsible pet
care, and reduce pet overpopulation through an
aggressive spay/neuter program. In 2012 alone the
Valley Oak SPCA specifically provided care, shelter,
and treatment to 13,142 lost, stray, and unwanted
animals; spayed and neutered 4,927; administered
10,704 vaccinations; and microchipped 537 pets. Your
donations go directly to helping these animals!
For more information on SPCA's program, visit their website at: www.vospca.org.
And make sure to stop by a Valley Oak Credit Union branch soon to help a pet in
need!

0% Financing: Is it Really a Deal?
.
Many car companies are still offering 0% financing to
lure buyers to their dealerships, but does this rate
really save you money? Here are some things to
consider when you see a 0% financing rate offer:
Credit Score Matters - It's likely that you need a credit score of at least 750 to
qualify for 0% financing. This excludes many individuals from the offer.
Vehicle Models are Limited - 0% financing is often attached to select vehicles,
which may very well be the unpopular models.
Short Term Loan / High Monthly Payment - The term of a 0% loan is usually
short (36 months), which means you will end up with a higher monthly payment.
Rebate = More Savings - If you are interested in a vehicle at $20,000 and have
the option of 0% financing for 36 months or a $3,000 cash-back/rebate, take the
rebate! It'll have a lower monthly payment and will be less than 0% financing in
the long run.
Take the time to research desirable vehicle models on websites such as
nadaguides.com, kbb.com, or edmunds.com to get the true market value of a
vehicle and perhaps the value of a vehicle you intend to trade in.
Often the credit union can save you money over dealer financing! Evaluate your
Valley Oak Credit Union auto loan options today by dialing 800-561-4302 or by
visiting our loans page.
