Model 1200 Rotary Rakes

Model 1200 Rotary Rakes
Heavy duty Rotary Stick Rakes have been an important part of the large
acreage land-clearing equipment developed over twenty years ago, with
further development taking place in the 1980's to suit USA forest industry
requirements. Savannah builds these machines now in two versions: large,
trailing Rotary Rakes for land clearing and tractor-mounted Rotary V-rakes
for use on reforestation projects
Rotary stickrakes are normally used in conjunction with a blade plow. One to
two weeks after blade plowing a re-growth site, draw one of these trailing
rakes behind a large wheel tractor, Cat Challenger or skidder across the site,
to rake all the dead vegetation into windrows for burning. The size of the
downed timber dictates the choice of rake.

1200 Series Medium-duty Rotary Stick Rake
The 1220 series rakes are used in five, six, or seven wheel
configuration for heavy raking. For subsequent raking after burning, or
for use on lighter scrubland sites.
The Model 1237 is normally used in conjunction with a blade plow one
to two weeks after blade plowing a re-growth site, draw one of these
trailing rakes behind a large wheel tractor, Cat Challenger or skidder
across the site, to rake all the dead vegetation into windrows for
burning. The size of the downed timber dictates the choice of rake.

Model 1200 Series Savannah Scrub Rake
1204 4-wheel Forestry Rotary Stickrake
Weighing over ten tons, the Savannah Forestry Rake has four, 7 ft
raking wheels and rakes a strip over 13 ft wide in one pass. These
rakes are built heavy enough to rake fallen trees into large windrows,
instead of using a conventional dozer-mounted front stick rake and can
be very cost-effective on large projects. As a rule of thumb, a ten-ton
rake will push up about 8-9 tons of material across the lateral face of
the rake into a continuous windrow before it starts to skid sideways.
Specifications
Four, 7ft raking wheels
Two, 35.5 x 32 logger tires on rear.
Choice of front dolly wheels or truck turntable.
Hydraulically adjustable wheel track.
Weight ~ nine tons
MODEL 1220 V-RAKE:
For use on sites where no actual shearing off of stumps or standing
trees is required, but where you want to be able to push heavy surface
debris to either side of a working implement. The front deflector tyne, as
well as both raking wheels are fitted with the Savannah 'stump-jump'
hydraulic release system, which holds them down in contact with the
soil, under pressure, but allows them to ride up over stumps to avoid
excessive wear or damage.
On sites with heavy logging debris, the Savannah V-Rake gives the
operator the opportunity to work across the site at optimum speed and
produce much cleaner beds. On 4WD skidders, or smaller dozers, it
allows one-pass cultivating operations without using a V-Shear,
providing attention is paid to clean harvesting and low stump height.
System pressure is set at 1800-2000psi. The front deflector tyne is
designed so that it will fold back right out of the way, to allow passage
over high stumps without moving the raking wheels away from contact
with the ground.
