CERTIFICATE OF COMPETENCY (CoC) SPECIAL LIMITS MARINE ENGINEER PROGRAMME The place-n-train programme for CoC (Special Limits) Marine Engineer is a new programme collaborated with the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), Workforce Development Agency (WDA), e2i (Employment and Employability Institute), Singapore Maritime Academy (SMA) and Singapore Shipping Association’s (SSA) affiliated bunkering companies. The aim is to train locals as Marine Engineers onboard vessels plying within Special Limits (refer to voyage limits below) Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for all operations and maintenance of all engineering equipment on board Ensure the systems are properly maintained Responsible for maintaining the main engine room Determine the consumables required for voyages Programme Details Successful applicants will have to attend an intensive 14-months training programme comprising of 3 training phases: Programme Structure Duration Phase 1: Pre-sea Classroom Training at Singapore Maritime Academy (SMA) 6 months Phase 2: OJT onboard ship (Sea Service) 6 months Phase 3: Classroom Examination Preparatory Course at SMA 2 months Total 14 months Funding Support Course Fees Training Allowances $14,000/pax Fully Funded by e2i, MPA and shipping companies Phase 1: $1,200/month Phase 2,3: $1,400/month Eligibility Criteria Singaporeans and Singapore PRs with at least NITEC in an Engineering field Where to Register Interest To receive notification for the next Job Opportunities Briefing for this programme, leave your contacts here (hyperlink: https://e2i.com.sg/individuals/job-opportunities/register-interest-formaritime-industry/maritime-industry-registration-form/) More information on Special Limits Region
