Short Description TUT_AX is a campaign movement formed by TUT ICT Students together with SRC and respective Structures against all xenophobic acts taking place currently in our country. We want to come together as a nation to STOP this inhumane and barbaric injustice. Website :https://tutweareone.wordpress.com/ #YES_WE_ARE_ONE_EVERYWHERE Executive Summary We as students of TUT and people of South Africa are having genuine concerns regarding these inhumane and barbaric acts conducted by our fellow South Africans. This behavior is totally unacceptable, it goes against our well fought human rights that “all living within our land deserves this land” and that we are all ONE. We are calling to the government, local churches, community leaders to join us and support the notion that NO to racial discrimination, No to racial oppression, No to foreign oppression brought to anyone residing within our democratic land because we are one, everywhere. This campaign’s agenda is to teach and empower individuals to exercise their right to freedom equally everywhere. We intend to engage many people in “how” we can assimilate or project new ways to welcome our foreign nationals. We are one as a nation, what affects my neighbor affects me too. ` Concept of the Campaign We will be launching our Campaign Against Xenophobia on the 28 April 2015 at TUT SOSHANGUVE SOUTH CAMPUS, alongside groups of students and the community. Here we will host a march that will be start from TUT SOSHANGUVE NORTH CAMPUS to TUT SOSHANGUVE SOUTH CAMPUS at Time 09 h 00. And this march will consist of a diverse culture of individuals both foreign and South African nationals. Numerous speakers will motivate and engage the audience when we arrive at the South Campus. White t-shirts with the TUT logo and name of the campaign will be distributed among the participating audience, #YES_WE_ARE_ONE_EVERYWHERE Broadcasting mediums such as TUT FM 96.2 will be utilized to spread along social networks to get more people involved. Newspapers, local and commercial radio stations, local magazines and through other relevant sources to get our messages carried out effectively. SWOT Analysis 1. Strength(s) Students share a mutual agreement in decreasing xenophobia. We are equipped with interpersonal skills that can be utilized to communicate our message thoroughly and effectively. A growing support of lecturers, students and friends. SRC members in full support. 2. Weakness(s) No form of transportation. Not a formal organization of TUT. No form of funding. 3. Opportunity(s) Foreign staff and students within University will be free to move, communicate freely as intended. The epidemic is a current matter. Initiative will bring about a positive change to how TUT is perceived. TUT will be known as an institution that will have brought a positive influence in the community through this campaign. 4. Threat(s) Campaigning proposal might be rejected. It will convey the importance of peaceful protests and uniting with one voice to communicate grievances affecting individuals in their respective communities. It will create a welcoming environment in TUT of international students and staff. We want to stop all kinds of violence in our communities. Conclusion We believe that through this initiative of ours, lives will be changed and spared.
