Lodi is an older variety that was introduced to replace Yellow
Transparent, which it resembles somewhat in appearance and
season. It is a good early season apple for pies and sauces,
but as a dessert apple it tends to be very tart and has been
known to have given many a young boy a "belly ache" when
picked too early. It is a better keeper than Yellow Transparent

Quinte Apple
Quinte is one of the earliest quality summer apples to eat.
The fruit is crisp, juicy and tasty with a red blush over a yellow
skin. It doesn't store well, but does harvest over a longer

Red Astrachan is a small to medium sized apple with a pale
creamy skin striped with red and covered with a heavy bloom.

Beacon is an excellent early summer apple with juicy, mild
sub-acid flesh. It is good for fresh eating and cooking, but

striped over a yellow background. The tree is vigorous,
