Director of External Relations
Position Overview:
The Director of External Relations has the opportunity to build a strategic network of
contacts through creating and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders and
sponsors for Enactus SFU. Through these relationships, you will play a significant role in the
growth of our organization. Further, you will provide support to external coordinators in all
Enactus SFU programs to coordinate outreach efforts and ensure consistency. In this role,
you will be working closely with a team of Enactus SFU Executives and reporting to the
President. This position gives you the opportunity to develop relationships with externals
and expand your network while seeking valuable partnerships to continue the growth of
Enactus SFU.
Your term will run from
May 2015 to May 2016.
Responsibilities:
● Working with the Director of Finance to set practical funding goals to align with
projected yearly expenses
● Oversee and support all program external coordinators in outreach efforts
● Managing Enactus SFU’s presence within the non-profit and corporate communities
● Establishing appropriate sponsorship tiers and ensuring all sponsorship benefits are
provided to monetary and in-kind partners
● Managing a database of external contact information
● Seeking community grants or awards that could provide value to Enactus SFU and its
programs
Qualifications:
● Comfortable with creating and maintaining excellent working relationships with
stakeholders
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
● Effective persuasion and negotiation skills
● Works well within a team and consistently meets deadlines
● Experience in a sales or external role is an asset
