In line with the opinion expressed by the airlines, Aéroports
de la Côte d’Azur has decided to award the fourth ground
handling licence at the Nice airport to Groupe Europe
Handling (GEH), using Landmark Aviation as general aviation
service provider
Following a decision of the Trade Court of 5 December 2014 to authorise the acquisition of AMC GROUP by
AVIAPARTNER, GH TEAM CARGO SERVICES and ENCORE FBO, Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur had issued a new
RFP to allocate the remaining fourth licence for handling services in limited categories no. 3 (baggage
handling) and no. 5 (airside operations).
Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur received 4 proposals and selected 1 candidate. Emphasis was put in particular on
the quality of service offered by ramp handlers and on these providers' contribution to the environmental
aspects and requirements of the platform.
Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur has taken the decision in the interest of its customers, who are at the heart of the
airport operator's actions and concerns. The commercial airlines and business airlines had initially stated their
position by advisory vote.
Up until 31 December 2020, the selected ramp handler is the following:
- Groupe Europe Handling (GEH), which will sub-contract the General Aviation activity to ENCORE FBO NICE,
whose trade name is LANDMARK AVIATION.
Considering the challenges and requirements associated with the commercial aviation and business aviation
activities, it was essential for Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur to fulfil its customers' needs as fully as possible in
such a key sector for the development of the Territory. Aircraft handling is highly instrumental in the
competitiveness of the Nice airport platform, and hence of the Territory.
Nice Côte d'Azur airport is the second airport business in France after Paris, with 11.7 million passengers in 2014, 105 direct destinations
and 53 scheduled airlines serving 34 countries. Outside Paris, it is the only French airport to offer daily flights to New York and Dubai.
Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur Group manages the Nice Côte d’Azur, Cannes Mandelieu and Golfe de Saint-Tropez airports (since July 2013). It
is Europe’s Number 2 business aviation airport.. http://en.nice.aeroport.fr
