Number one grade full thickness cowhides are slow tanned in a natural ‘tea’ of tree bark to preserve the ‘raw’ hides. The preserved hides are tumbled and oils are added to make them more supple and flexible. The resulting natural full grain leather cowhides become our Standard leather.
