DESIGN: MADE: TRADE creates new opportunities for emerging
studios
Ute Design, Arko Letterbox
DESIGN: MADE: TRADE, a bespoke design event within Decor + Design will be back for the
second year, representing a curated forum of the country’s best creative talent. This year’s
showcase will include products from a diverse range of design disciples, from textile, furniture,
lighting to graphic design. Design: Made: Trade will be held at the iconic Melbourne Exhibition
Centre, from 10-13 July 2014 and incorporates two new satellite start-up features, Design: Bazaar
and Wall St.
Design: Made: Trade has become a hot spot for emerging designers, with outstanding trade
opportunities. The event acts as a platform to help develop business partnerships and give
designers the chance for profile elevation.
Exhibitors in DESIGN: MADE: TRADE include Greg and Brian from Sawdust Design, who design and
produce unique handmade furniture, Anne- Clare from Anaca Studio, who creates a range of
furniture and accessories using forestry certified timbers and other sustainable materials, and
Brisbane based duo Rhys Thomas and Kristie Lahey from Nooko&co, whose Wedge, Tube and
Fold collection offers Australian designed and made furniture that reflects the way we live, plus
more.

DESIGN: Bazaar is a new initiative, designed for small studios, who are producing micro
production runs with original design work across home interior products, ceramics, lighting,
furniture and surface artists. The new feature presents an opportunity for these studios to
participate in a high profile design event and be exposed to a large trade and retailer
audience.
Alongside this exciting showcase is Wall St, a unique
platform for textile designers and surface artists, looking to
showcase large format visuals and original bespoke work.
In addition to a diverse and inspiring range of products to
view, visitors to Decor + Design will have the opportunity to
extend their knowledge by attending the International
Seminar Series. This year’s line up includes a number of
engaging seminars including Design Colour Trends for
Interiors 2015 and Beyond by Victoria Redshaw (UK), Ethical Green Design by Kari Whitman (USA)
and How to Create Interiors with Personality by Kishani Perera (USA).
