An Independent Public School
Newsletter No.6
School Vision: At Mullaloo Heights Primary School, we take pride in creating a dynamic
and safe learning community, inspired by family, partnerships and educational innovation
striving for academic and civic excellence for all our students.
ANZAC Day Commemoration Service: THANK YOU to all of our students and parents who
participated in our ANZAC service, commemorating the 100 th year of the landing at Gallipoli.
It is important that we remember our men and women who have fought for our country to keep
Australia a free and wonderful country. Thank you to the students who wore their service
uniforms. We had a special guest speaker, Mr Wattie, a retired Warrant Officer from the Royal
Australian Air Service, speak to us. Thank you to Ms Beeftink and Ms Franchetto for your
organisation of the service, and to Mrs Ameduri for working with our choir.
No.21that I announce that our chaplain, Bev Fruin, has
CHAPLAIN: It is withNewsletter
great pleasure
returned to our school for the remainder of the year and for all of 2016. The Minister for
Education, Peter Collier, announced that the state government will fund chaplains to schools
who had previously applied the National School Chaplaincy programme and were
unsuccessful; we were one of those schools. Mrs Fruin will continue her previous chaplaincy
role and has ideas on how to further develop her role.
No commitment has been made to provide State funding for In School Chaplains for 20172018.
PARLIAMENT HOUSE: Our year 6 student councillors, along with Ms Franchetto, student
councillor coordinator, and Mrs Rasmussen, School Board Chair, visited Parliament House,
today. Our local MLA, Mr Albert Jacob, Member for Ocean Reef, took everyone on a tour of
Parliament House and they all enjoyed lunch in the Members’ Dining Room. THANK YOU, Mr
Albert, for this generous opportunity which was enjoyed by our councillors.
