WOMEN’S AZALEA TOURNAMENT RULES
1. All Bowlers must be female USBC members in good standing. Any female USBC bowler may enter regardless of the
State where she resides. Tournament starts August 8, 2015 and ends August 23, 2015.
2. Entering average shall be, in order, USBC sanctioned (1) Highest 2013-2014 winter season final average; or (2)
Highest 2014 summer season final average; or (3) Highest 2014-2015 winter season final average. The 2015 summer
season average will NOT be eligible for participation in this tournament. Bowlers not qualifying under the above rules
will bowl scratch. For average verifications, Association Secretary Signature or printout of final averages from
Bowl.com will be required.
3. Handicap will be 90% of the difference between the bowlers average and 200.
4. USBC rule 319a2, 10 pin rule, will apply. Rule 319c, Average Adjustments-Rerating, will apply. Rule 319e, Average Adjustment for Entry, will apply.
5. Entries close midnight July 25, 2015. You may reserve dates and times provided they are paid for by June 1, 2015. No late entries will be accepted - no refunds after entry is accepted. Tournament Committee reserves the right to reject any entry form and return the fees.
6. Bowlers may enter twice in the four person team event. No more than two of the same bowlers may bowl together on the second team. The highest team score will count toward All Events Score. Bowlers entering doubles must enter singles and vice versa. Doubles and singles will be bowled consecutively on the same set of lanes with no break between the events. Doubles will be bowled first. There will be no more than two pair of bowlers to a pair of lanes. You may enter doubles and singles only once.
7. Substitutions will be allowed and must be made at least one hour prior to the scheduled bowling time with
verification of average. Substitutes shall take the place of the original entrant. Substitutes will be entitled to any prize
monies or awards earned from her competition. Substitutes will not be liable for any reimbursement of entry fees,
prize money or awards to the original entrant. Paid All-Events are not transferable unless substitute replaces original
entrant in all three events.
8. Entrants arriving late will be permitted to bowl with scores to count beginning with the frame in which she starts to
bowl. No practice shots will be allowed after tournament play begins.
9. Team captains are responsible for informing team members of proper dress, proper conduct during bowling, and to
be at the bowling center one hour before assigned squad time. No short shorts, short skirts, or tank tops will be
allowed.
10. Any appeal or protest regarding tournament scores shall be made in writing to the Tournament Committee. The action
of the Tournament Committee shall be final, unless an appeal is made in accordance with USBC Rule 329.
11. Computer/Telescores will be official (transposed to score sheets). Team captains will sign team score sheets and
individuals will sign doubles and singles score sheets. Signatures make the score sheets final and official. Only obvious errors in transposing and addition will be considered valid.
12. Prize money will be awarded one prize for every ten entries in Team, Doubles and Singles and one for every twenty
entries in both Handicap and Scratch All Events. All cash prizes will be awarded on Handicap basis except
Scratch All Events. All prize fees collected in any event will be returned 100% to the participants in that event.
13. Prize money will be sent to team captains within thirty days after the close of the Tournament, if there are no
disqualifications. Team captains will distribute prize money to their bowlers within seven days.
Prize checks not cashed within sixty days will not be honored by the WABT.
14. PREMATURE TERMINATION: Premature termination of the tournament brought about by war, national emergency, or emergency causes relating thereto or therefrom, fire, national disaster, or any other reason beyond the control of the tournament officials shall cause, to the extent required thereby, all advertised prizes, guaranteed or otherwise, to be pro-rated in accordance with the number of entrants who have bowled in each of the respective events up to the time of such termination.
