View from Ciderhuset-Balestrand/NORWAY Project Identification TITLE Create your Project: From Theory to Practice SUBJECT Learn how you write project in Erasmus+ Program TYPE OF PROJECT HOSTING Erasmus+ / Learning Mobility of Individuals / Mobility of learners and staff DATE DURATION 20-28 April 2015 11 day (Traveling days are included) LOCATION Balestrand- NORWAY Balestrand Ungdomslag- Norway PARTICIPANT Norway-Turkey-Poland-Slovakia-Italy S 6 participants from each country Summary of the Project: “Create your Project: From Theory to Practice” will include 30 youth workers/leaders from 5 different countries: Turkey, Poland, Slovakia, Italy and Norway. The project will take place in Balestrand, Norway, between 20 till 28 April 2015 and will be arranged by Balestrand Ungdomslag. The participants will come from different youth organizations and youth groups and from different cultures. They will participate in the process of creating a mini version of Erasmus+ project and in a journey from theory to practice. They will stay on an organic fruit farm for nine days and they will also experience Norwegian culture and nature by taking part in both indoor and outdoor activities. The trainers, Tuba Ardic and Gard Eitungjerde Høyvik will work with the participants on the theory of improvisation theatre, game theory and intercultural competence and will give a detailed presentation of the Erasmus + programme and the different elements of this during the project. The trainers will use non-formal education methods, which foster the participants’ personal and social development. With the help of the theories will be learned in this project the participants will choose a topic on which they would like to do their own project. With the help of the trainers and the Erasmus + programme guide, they will practice writing an Erasmus + project by using the application form provided. They will do this in groups. The groups will have a whole day to write a mini version of a project including a budget and a week programme. Afterwards they will receive feedback from the trainers about their application form. Each group will also have some hours to implement part of their week programme and will receive feedback from the whole group. By doing this we will provide the participants the opportunity to learn about and experience both the project writing process and the use of theories in practice. The project writing and implementation day will help the participants to learn by doing, which is one of the main goals of the non-formal education method. During the project the participants, who themselves work with young people, will learn tools of creativity like games, theatre theory and exercises. By working in an intercultural group, the participants will experience and learn about the different cultures. This will help to diminish our prejudices against each other and foster European awareness between the youth workers. The participants will also learn about the theory of ‘third culture’, which is about creating a new arena where two or more cultures meet. To achieve this we need, among many other things, communication skills and knowledge of the other culture. We believe in the importance of this project, especially with the spreading economic crises in Europe. By doing this training course, which focuses on teaching youth workers about writing and implementing projects, we will help the participants to empower young people in their own countries. We hope that the mini version of the projects, which the participants write during the project, will come alive in the participants’ countries in the future. EXPECTATIONS FROM PARTICIPANT: Interested in project topics, over 18 years old, male and female number balance in the groups. FINANCE: The project is financed by European Commission (Erasmus+). Therefore; food, accommodation, trips during the project, activities will be fully covered. If visa is needed the coasts will be reimbursed in the project. There is no participation fee. PRACTICAL INFORMATION: • • • • We will arrange an international evenings during the project. We want you bring some food or drink from your country for this nights. Every country will have a budget 50 EU for this. Just bring your receipts to us and you will be paid in Norway. We want to warn you about the temperature in Norway. We hope that we will have a lot of sunny days but probably we will have cold and rainy days also during the project. Please have this into consideration while packing your luggage. During the project we will have some outdoor activities and a mountain trip. Trip will not be so long and hard. During this trip you will able to see the Norwegian fjord from the top of the mountains and experience a really good walk. For mountain trip, you need a good bots. Please take a least one pear of shoes, which is comfortable to walk and not get easily wet. And also if you have raincoat and trousers please bring it. AND do not forget some warm clothes. We do not want to scare you but it is nice to be prepared. We are recommending all of you to find a flight to Oslo and take the night or day bus from Oslo to Project photo from 2010, Balestrand Balestrand.
