Victorian Greens state office, in Melbourne CBD Full time, until four weeks after the 2016 federal election or 2016 Victorian local council elections (fixed date Oct 22 2016), which ever is later. A three-­‐month probationary period applies Full time with regular evening and weekend work. Campaign Manager (initially to State Director) April 2014 ABOUT THE ROLE The deputy campaign manager in the chief project manager of the 2016 campaign. They run all the campaign logistics: from getting all candidates nominated; making sure all candidates have fantastic photos and biographies; working with designers to produce and personalise business cards pamphlets and signs for each candidates; and, ensuring How to Vote Cards are delivered to campaigns teams swiftly ahead of election day. You will likely be simultaneously managing the logistical needs of approximately 100 candidates for federal and local council seats. You will be setting up strong systems and focus on internal communication to make all election logistics run smoothly. If you have a love of systems, structure, order, regulations, planning and are flexible enough to deal with a dynamic election environment, then this role is for you. The next federal Election will be held between August 6th 2016 and January 14th 2017 (likely between Aug and Dec). There is a small possibility of a ‘double dissolution’ election where an election could occur before this period at short notice. Victorian Local council election will be held on 22nd October 2016. This is the first campaign role hired for the 2016 campaign. Whilst the 2016 campaign team is being set up you will act as the Victorian Greens campaign contact on all campaign related matters, and conduct basic ongoing campaign functions. You will provide general campaign support to any local teams in the event of a by-­‐election. Develop a logistics plan for the 2016 federal and local council elections. Regular reporting against this plan and problems solve challenges. Lead the following key campaign projects: candidate nominations (internal and external); election materials development, personalisation and distribution; How to Vote Card production and distribution. This will include copy writing, managing relationships with suppliers and electoral bodies, non-­‐technical set up website for each candidate, systems access and use, quality assurance of materials, and lots of spreadsheets. It will also include ensure compliance with all electoral rules and regulations in regards to these key project areas. Manage internal communications with campaign teams including candidate inductions, a ‘campaign manual’ and regular newsletters. Manage staff and volunteers. Work collaboratively with colleagues managing the Greens voter contact, and communications. Other duties as directed SELECTION CRITERIA 1. Commitment to the Greens charter and policies. 2. Significant demonstrated experience in managing complex logistical projects with multiple stakeholders, adhering to sign off processes and working to tight deadlines in a dynamic environment. 3. Strong attention to detail. You will be able to pick up mistakes; whether it is spelling, an incorrect delivery address, a missing candidate form, or a regulation to be considered. 4. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to breakdown the complex to what the audience needs to know, and strong copy editing and proof reading skills. 5. Strong interpersonal skills with as results-­‐oriented problem solving approach to clients/customers/colleagues/suppliers. 6. Experience working in a dynamic campaign environment with volunteers.
