HAVANA CLUB AÑEJO 15 AÑOS: THE PRODUCT STORY PART OF THE HAVANA CLUB ICÓNICA COLLECTION Havana Club Añejo 15 Años is a very rare and limited release of an extra aged rum, the result of a truly unique and incredibly precise, scientific process. Attaining the illustrious position of a Maestro Ronero requires a unique blend of passion, precision and patience. During 15 years of apprenticeship, Maestros Roneros learn to understand the complex art of rum-making – a process that requires a scientific approach through extensive experimentation and meticulous observing of the successive blending and ageing processes. Created by Primer Maestro Ronero, Don José Navarro, Havana Club Añejo 15 Años is testament to this tradition of the Roneros and the magical rum-making craft. As its name declares, the youngest drop of fine rum has been aged for 15 years in old oak barrels. However, this is in the tropical climate of Cuba where the humidity and hot weather have a dramatic effect on maturation, making Havana Club Añejo 15 Años rare and special rum. Only a rum-maker such as Don José Navarro who has amassed the unrivalled experience gained through 40 years of distillery work could conjure-up such an exceptionally smooth and elegant rum. So specific are his requirements that only 58 barrels of Havana Club Añejo 15 Años are selected for bottling each year and sold on allocation. With outstanding quality of the ageing process this rare and luxurious Cuban rum has been rewarded with many international awards, including xxx. Havana Club Añejo 15 Años is bottled at 40% ABV and is distinguished by a clear, bright mahogany coloured liquid and its incomparable softness of tannins and fruity aroma. Tasting Notes Nose: Dried fruits, prunes and raisins stand out from its rich aroma along with some oak notes. Palate: A cascade of well-integrated flavours of sweet fruit, chocolate, coffee, tobacco and spices wash over the palette. Finish: A long sweet and complex aftertaste of vanilla and cocoa notes. Perfect serve: Havana Club Añejo 15 Años is best enjoyed by rum connoisseurs as a slow-sipping rum, neat or on the rocks.
