UK Business Development Manager REF NO: UK/00069/GAS CONTRACT: Permanent Full Time Staff GEOGRAPHICAL AREA: Liverpool with National Travel SALARY: Competitive Salary and Benefits CLOSING DATE: Open ROLE SUMMARY: HE Simm have established themselves as a leading provider of Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health Services operating throughout the UK and serving clients from their head office in Liverpool and southern office in London. HE Simm are currently in an exciting expansion phase and have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our team. The main focus of the BDM shall be to provide strategic business development and growth planning to generate, establish and increase repeat business opportunities through B2B agreements and promote the professional standing and exceptional services values of the HE Simm business. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will work very closely with the Senior Management team to drive the growth strategy in the UK. The responsibilities within the position are: Plan and implement marketing strategy, including advertising and PR for head office and any regional business units, develop the business in geographical areas that represent significant and sustainable opportunity for the business; To provide direction and participate in the development/production of the business plan and budgets, based on the goals and objectives of HE Simm, maintaining responsibility for the successful delivery of agreed business development plans; Create exceptional business relationships at all levels within existing and targeted key clients to ensure that the Company is appropriately aligned commercially, technically and operationally to take advantage of all potential revenue generating opportunities; Significantly strengthen footprint of the Company via a highly visible and targeted approach to business development and marketing, striking a balance between actively securing contracts and strategic business development; Acquire and continue to develop a comprehensive understanding of HE Simm’s capabilities, and convey to clients any new developments which promote the Company's brand for exceptional service and quality and values of excellence, people, teamwork and honesty; Develop and maintain a current understanding of the external marketplace (e.g. conditions, trends and competitors); Communication/awareness of unique selling points to clients emphasising these qualities and benefits to the client, and how we differentiate ourselves from the competition; Develop and acquire an accurate and up to date client portfolio pipeline; Maintain a constant awareness of the strategic aims and goals of the business plan and ensure that the business development strategy is aligned and associated activities are carried out in line with the strategy; Ensure that all business development associated activities are carried out in compliance with internal procedures and external legislation governing business operations; To manage and provide leadership to the Marketing/PR department; Manage client KPI reviews at agreed intervals, review results with senior management team and relay improvements to clients to strengthen business relationships; Follow up on completed projects and identification of new opportunities through constant contact with clients; To budget, plan and oversee all business promotions and networking events; Preparing and delivering presentations to prospective clients; Interpretation and response to client prequalification questionnaires; Appreciate and understand the commercial implications and drivers within the construction process and incorporate these within decision making; Work closely with the Work Winning Director to develop new client relationships and manage the performance and success of existing relationships to ensure clients expectations are managed and achieved to retain clients; Live the HE Simm values of Excellence, Honesty, People and teamwork. PERSONAL QUALITIES Have worked within a similar role previously and be able to articulate your transferable skills; Have strong B2B market knowledge and commercial awareness, which would be advantages, but not essential; Demonstrate Proven strategic and tactical client relationship skills with effective decision making; Be able to operate across a complex matrix environment and managing value; Understand the external market place; Have a detailed understanding of Mechanical and Electrical services; Be a strategic thinker and have logical decision making capability; Be commercial savvy that will enable strong negotiations and influencing with impact; Good communication skills – be able to lead by example, promote team working and integrate with teams influencing style and client approach.
