The Context for this week’s Scripture Lessons: 39020 Five Mile Road, Livonia, MI 48154 734.464.0211 www.holytrinitylivonia.org A congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America God’s Work. Our Hands. WELCOME TO WORSHIP! We are delighted to have you with us today. Please stop by the Welcome Center after today’s service to pickup information and learn more about Holy Trinity. Jesus does great deeds of power and gives his disciples authority over demons. Yet none of this power is unilateral; it all must be received by faith. Jesus asks his disciples to go out without money or supplies, so that they will be dependent on how others receive them. When we are sent from the assembly to witness and to heal, we are asked to be vulnerable, to be dependent on the reception of others. The Spirit always operates in the between: between Jesus and his Abba, between Jesus and us, between you and me, between us and those to whom we are sent. Announcements — July 5, 2015 Enter to Worship This is a holy place & time. We invite you to enter God’s Sanctuary with joy and anticipation. When you have taken your seat, greet those around you in Christian fellowship. When the Prelude begins, spend a few moments in quiet reflection, preparing your heart for worship. ELCA NATIONAL GATHERING: DETROIT is just around the corner. There are four youth going from HTLC, as well as adult chaperones and volunteers. Everyone is invited to join us in the Sanctuary on Wednesday, July 15 at 11:00 a.m. as we gather for a blessing and sending of those attending the National Gathering. The Gathering is July 15 through 19, with 28,000 youth from around the country gathering for fellowship, worship and service. Youth will stay at hotels around the Metro area, and their evening gatherings will be held downtown at Ford Field. We pray this will be an experience of growth, fun and faith formation for all attending, and look forward to hearing exciting reports upon their return. SUPPORT YOUTH GATHERING PROJECTS: HTLC members can still support the youth service projects happening in July. The Detroit projects our youth have chosen to support are: boarding up houses ($600 per house), and providing art supplies for the Alley Project ($15). Offer your support by making a donation using your regular offering envelope. Please note that the donation is for ELCA Youth Gathering. Ju l y 5 t h r o u g h 11 — Pe nt e c o s t V I Sun.
