Job Purpose
The Director of Education is responsible for the daily oversight and management of the
HRTN School, Terekeka Campus. The school currently serves pre-school through 8th
grade and is growing each year, possibly adding secondary education (high school) in
the future. The position requires high levels of personal responsibility and discipline in
order to ensure the routines of the school are consistently and closely followed. This
position also requires the ability to work well with both adults and children of all ages
using Christian Biblical wisdom to love, teach and encourage them toward increasingly
responsible, independent and trustworthy behaviors. The position demands high levels
of trustworthiness, as it is responsible for handling cash and other valuable resources of
the organization. The person in this position is also held to a high standard of personal
conduct as they possess considerable influence over staff and children. The Director of
Education will ensure that the HRTN School brings quality education and Christian
discipleship to the Mundari children in the local community of Terekeka.
Work Duties
1) General duties and responsibilities:
a) Participate in daily prayer, individual and corporate, for the knowledge and
application of God’s will for the ministry of HRTN and the people of South Sudan.
b) Maintain a Christ-like attitude at all times, and behaviors consistent with the
Harvesters Code of Conduct.
c) Perform all duties according to the standards and requirements of the
Harvesters Policies & Procedures.
d) Attend periodic meetings with other HRTN personnel as may be required to
coordinate the work of the Mission.
2) Administration
a) Work closely with South Sudanese School Administrator and Headmaster
b) Work closely with HRTN senior leadership.
3) Create vision for and monitor the quality of education provided to the students.
4) Oversee Human Resources: Hire, Fire, and Train the teaching and school staff.
5) Oversee the registration of new students.
6) Plan curriculum and extra curricular activities.
7) Oversee the chapel program.
8) Coordinate with the S. Sudanese Government Ministry of Education.
