For the SBAC English Non-Performance Task,
juniors with the last name A-L will test from 8:1010:15, and juniors with the last name M-Z will test
from 10:30-12:30. The Math Non-Performance task
will be held on April 21 with the same students and

Student Body Elections
Joining the HHS leadership team is an excellent way to get
involved at school and to make a positive impact on the
school! If students are interested in running for student
body, they were required to apply during the month of
March. Petitions needed to be signed by March 19th-March
26th for students who were applying for a class or student
body office. Students who are running for a leadership
position can begin campaigning for office from March 30thApril 15th. All freshmen, sophomores, and juniors will report
to the gym after break on April 15th for the student body
elections rally. During this time, all seniors will report to Reeder Hall for the Senior
Bulletin where they will receive pertinent information regarding graduation and senior
activities. For questions regarding student body elections, please contact Mrs. Bazil.
EAP
Final Disneyland Payment
Embedded in the SBAC for the first year is the
Early Assessment Program (EAP), which will
serve as an early indicator for college success.
Students who score exempt in either English or
math will not have to take the CSU’s placement
tests, Entry Level Math (ELM) or English Placement Test (EPT). A “conditional status” on the
exam would mean that CSU bound students
would have to meet one of the following criteria
during their senior year:
 For English, take an approved English
course, (AP English Language) or earn an
SAT reading score of 460 or ACT English
of 19
 For math, take an approved math course
(math analysis, AP Calculus, Advanced Algebra [retake only for CSU Stanislaus] or
earn an SAT math score of 490 or ACT
math of 20
 Participate in the CSU Early Start program,
if students do not take an approved course
or meet SAT/ACT requirements
Seniors, it is
time for the
final
Disneyland
payment for
Grad Nite
on May 15th-16th. The final payment of $85
is due on Friday, April 17th. If you have failed
to make previous payments, please ensure
that you make those payments as well. The
total cost of the trip is $185. All accounts
must be paid in full in order to attend the
senior trip. Payments are non-refundable.
Please make payments to Mrs. Reed in the
office. All
seniors who
are paid in
full will
receive a
Disneyland
packet with
pertinent
information
as the date draws near.
Contact Mrs. Moring or
Ms. Garcia for more
information.
AP Brush Up Dates
Position Held: As the Learning Director, I serve various functions. My
job entails academic advisement for
11th-12th graders; maintaining and
advertising scholarships; facilitating
college, career, and FAFSA parent
nights; writing the PAWS newsletter;
supervising; facilitating student meetings; conducting teacher observations
and evaluations; organizing the senior trip; conducting college application workshops and assessments; organizing Academics Alive!; and various other duties as assigned.
Education History: As a graduate of
Hughson High School, I started my
college career at CSU Stanislaus and
transferred to the University of the
Pacific where I earned a bachelor’s
degree in English and a single subject
teaching credential. After graduating
from UOP, I worked as an English,
ELD, and AVID teacher at Escalon
High School from 2002-2014. I obtained a master’s degree in education
administration from Grand Canyon
University in 2010 and my administrative credential from CSU Stanislaus in 2013.
Hobbies: In my spare time, I have
coached cheerleading and choreographed routines. I love spending
time with my family and watching
my daughters participate in softball,
dance, gymnastics, and cheerleading.
Inspiration for Her Career: While I
loved teaching, my inspiration to
move into administration was to
make a greater impact on the entire
student population. Curriculum and
instruction is definitely my passion. I
enjoy working with teachers to improve teaching and learning by implementing effective instructional
strategies.
On the last day of April,
students taking AP courses will
begin brushing up for their
upcoming AP examinations.
Students taking AP exams are charged $91 per test. If
students pass the AP tests, many universities take this AP
credit and assign college credit. Passing the test could result
in meeting college course requirements, saving students
money on college costs. The AP Brush Up sessions will be
facilitated by the AP teachers and will be held on the
following dates in the following locations:
April 30:
 AP Environmental Science (Career Center)
 AP Calculus (Reeder Hall)
 AP U.S. History (Library)
May 1:
 AP Spanish (Career Center)
 AP Art History (Reeder Hall)
May 6:
 AP Biology (Career Center)
 AP English (Reeder Hall)
Actual AP testing will be held from May 4th-13. For more
information on AP testing information or fee waivers, please
contact Mr. Larson in the office.
