2015 IJRA Rodeo Sponsor’s Packet The following is the responsibility of the Rodeo Sponsor: Admissions Help Emergency Medical Personnel- the rodeo will not start without any emergency personnel Barrels- need to provide barrels for the barrel racing & flag racing. Barrels need to be 55 gallon metal barrels which are closed on both ends Awards Optional: Concession Stand Programs Special Attractions Sponsor is responsible for paying the following: Announcer Stock Fees EMT’s Timer’s Judge’s Newspaper or other advertisement fees Bullfighters (2) Pick up Men Awards -ed IJRA Responsibility: IJRA will provide the poles, flags for flag racing, tags for the goat tagging, barrier equipment, and protective vests and helmets. Planning a Junior Rodeo Checklist Date of Rodeo & Location: (must be approved by the IJRA Board by June 1, 2015) Advertisements: the rodeo should be announced well in advance through the radio, Navajo Times, Gallup Independent, fliers, posters, etc. ** Facilities: arena conditions- contact an IJRA official for approval ** Toilet facilities (2 minimum) Water for animals Safety Emergency Medical Personnel Rough Stock- ** Sheep- for wooly riding Steers- for pee wee steer riding Junior bulls- no sharp horns, must be tipped Senior bulls- no sharp horns, must be tipped Bareback horsesSaddle bronc horses Timed Event Stock- ** goats- three different sizes: small (2), medium (2), large(2) steers- for senior boys chute dogging, Junior & Senior team roping calves- for peewee, junior, and senior girls breakaway calves- for the senior boys tie down roping Feed for stock (optional depending on your contract with the stock contractors) Personnel: Announcer- ** Timers (2) - assigned by IJRA (paid by sponsor) Judges (3) - assigned by IJRA (paid by sponsor) Arena Director (optional) - to open gates, call out contestant names ** Bull Fighter- (2) ** Pick up personnel for Saddle and Bareback events ** Extra help for: chutes catch pen workers gates reloading stock hat fetchers rakers
