Under close supervision of a supervisory official in a state department or agency, as a trainee and productive worker, learns to conduct on-site occupational health consultation visits to expedite compliance with applicable standards, rules, and regulations; does related work as required. Work duties include but are not limited to: -Conducting Right to Know Surveys to identify and report workplace chemicals for all MVC sites. -Performing job/task hazard analysis to identify and evaluate chemical, physical and biological hazards and recommend administrative, work practice, engineering and personal protective equipment controls. -Providing training to employees about hazards and the control measures needed to reduce those hazards. -Conducting indoor air quality investigations to identify deviations from indoor air quality standards, -Conducting facility safety audits to identify deviations from safety/fire/electrical codes, and other safety hazards. -Maintaining OSHA 300 Log of all recordable occupational injuries and illnesses, -Investigating accidents and injuries to determine root cause and provide recommendations to reduce future accidents/injuries. -Conducting ergonomic assessments to reduce physical stressors that may produce work-related musculoskeletal disorders. -Evaluating the hazards of new products and their proposed uses. -Responding to and assessing complaints. -Generating audits and writing reports to identify unsafe areas of operations. -Interacting with Federal and State Agencies in regards to workplace safety and Health. -Developing programs to prevent workplace injuries & illnesses. -Administering the first aid, CPR, AED program. -Evaluating and solving environmental regulatory issues. EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, the Biological, Physical or Environmental Sciences, or Industrial or Chemical Engineering. A Minimum GPA - 3.0 in the major is preferred. EXPERIENCE: N/A NOTE: N/A LICENSE: Appointees will be required to possess a driver’s license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
