Recital Order of Performances
Please review carefully and let us know if you have any questions or
concerns at all. We want this time to be fun and hassle-free!
Dress Rehearsals and Recitals will be held at the Jenks High School
Performing Arts Center. Jenks High School is located at 205 E. B Street.
Jenks PAC Entrance is located on the north side of the school on “F”
Street. Look for the lighted Marquee Sign!
PARKING: You should park in the North Parking Lot off of “F” Street or
off of 91st Street.
DRESSING ROOMS for Recitals: Located down the hallway just north of
the auditorium. The Main Door to this hallway will be posted. Only ONE
parent is allowed through this door to drop off their child. The SAME
parent is the only one able to pick-up their child. They will be asked to
leave their name with their child’s Chaperone and this parent will receive a
wristband, which must be presented to enter the hallway to pick-up after the
recital! This will keep the hallway clear and your child safe! Absolutely no
one will be allowed through these doors during the performance, for any
reason, unless their name appears on the Quick Change List. This list is for
performers with multiple classes. You may sign up on the Quick Change
List at the Front Desk. Chaperones will stay with your child’s class at all
times!
QUICK CHANGE LIST: If your child takes more than one class and has a
completely different costume, please sign up at the Front Desk to be allowed
backstage during the Recital to assist your child in his/her costume change!
You MUST be on the Quick Change List to be allowed through the doors!
(This list is NOT for students who just change their shoes and/or skirt
or tutu. Chaperones will assist them!)
MAKE-UP: Heavy street make-up on ALL students is essential! Stage
lighting is very bright and therefore will wash out their face if left bare.
Mascara, eye shadow, blush and bright lipstick are recommended!
BALLET STUDENTS: There should be no bows on any ballet slippers.
Please tie the elastic string in a double knot and cut it off about 1 ½ inches
from the shoe and then tuck the laces into the ballet shoe. By using this
method of tying shoes, they cannot come untied and the laces are impossible
to trip on!
FLOWERS: It is a fun tradition to present Recital Performers with flowers
after recital. We will have flowers and other fun gifts available to purchase
in the PAC Lobby for your convenience; such as, single roses, ½ dozen to a
dozen roses, carnations, mixed bouquets, balloons, etc.
VIDEO RECORDING: You are welcome to video your child’s
performance during the Dress Rehearsal only! No video cameras will be
allowed during the recital! This will allow all audience members to enjoy
the recital without any distractions. Thank you for your cooperation.
Redeemed Productions will be making a professional video of the Recitals
for purchase. (Order Form enclosed.) You may view highlights from Jenks
Dance Academy’s 2011 Recital on our website’s home page! Order Forms
will be distributed during Costume Picture Week for “pre-orders” or you
may order on the day of the Recital at their booth in the Lobby.
CHAPERONE VOLUNTEERS
Chaperones are CRUCIAL for the recitals to run smoothly and for students
to perform at their best! It takes a lot of hard work to put on a production
like this and it takes many special people to make it work! WE TRULY
APPRECIATE YOUR CONSIDERATION!!!
• Chaperones must volunteer for both Dress Rehearsal & Recital.
• Chaperones will assist their class at Dress Rehearsal by taking
them to the stage and back to the auditorium.
• Chaperones must arrive one hour prior to the Recital. You will
receive instruction then on line up, stage route, etc.
• Chaperones will stay with their class at all times!
• Chaperones will lead their specific class onto the stage during the
Grand Finale.
• Please bring coloring books, games etc. to entertain your class!

Volunteer Description:
“Chaperones” ~ There will be a designated Class Mom/Chaperone for each
class. AGE 3 & 4 CLASSES NEED TWO CHAPERONES! As a
Chaperone, you will stay with your class at all times. You will walk them to
the stage and back for their performance, change shoes and/or add
accessories as needed, put them in their correct line up order, and stay with
them until all are picked-up. Most importantly, make sure the same parent
that dropped them off is the parent who is picking them up! We will have
special “Restroom Assistants” to take students to the restroom so you do not
have to leave your group! You will be provided with a clipboard with
student names and a designated “sign-in/sign-out” section for parents when
they drop off and pick up their child.
*** Chaperones receive a FREE 2015 Recital Tee! ***
If you have any questions regarding being a Chaperone, please email
