OUR NEW ORLEANS ARCHDIOCESE
FAMILY PRAYER
Loving and Faithful God, through the years
the people of our archdiocese have appreciated
the prayers and love of Our Lady of Prompt Succor
in times of war, disaster, epidemic and illness.
We come to you, Father, with Mary our Mother,
and ask you to help us in the battle of today
against violence, murder and racism.
We implore you to give us your wisdom
that we may build a community
founded on the values of Jesus, which gives respect
to the life and dignity of all people.
Bless parents
that they may form their children in faith.
Bless and protect our youth
that they may be peacemakers of our time.
Give consolation to those
who have lost loved ones through violence.
Hear our prayer and give us the perseverance
to be a voice for life and human dignity
in our community.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Our Lady of Prompt Succor, hasten to help us.
Mother Henriette Delille, pray for us
that we may be a holy family.

The Archdiocese is truly blessed by the service of
many holy and dedicated priests, especially our retired priests, who have served our Archdiocese faithfully. We currently have fifty retired priests, many
who continue to serve in our archdiocese in many
ways.
The annual retirement collection on Good Shepherd
Sunday, April 25-26, is used to support the medical
and retirement expenses of these priests.
Your participation in this collection is a way to say
“thank you” to our retired Archdiocesan priests for
their many years of service to us, the Church of the
Archdiocese of New Orleans. I assure you that your
support will benefit the priests for many years to
come.
Please join me in prayer for vocations to the priesthood that others may follow in their footsteps to give
their lives to be good shepherds in leading the flock
of Christ.
With gratitude for your generosity and wishing you
God’s blessings in this Easter Season, I am
Sincerely in Christ,
Most Reverend Gregory M. Aymond
Archbishop of New Orleans

COFFEE AND DONUTS “ON VACATION”
Because in the coming weeks Lenes Hall is needed
for activities associated with our First Communion
program, the next Sunday Morning Coffee & Donuts
Fellowship will take place on May 10.
ARCHDIOCESAN MASS FOR VOCATIONS
Sunday, April 26 (“Good Shepherd Sunday”) is this
year’s World Day of Prayer for Vocations. As the
Church invites us to honor the vocation of all Christians given in baptism, let us pray that those who
are discerning their life vocation — whether it be to
marriage, the single life, priesthood, diaconate, or
consecrated life — may listen to the voice of the
Good Shepherd to guide them. To mark World Vocation Day, the Archdiocese of New Orleans will celebrate its annual Mass for Vocations at 11 a.m. at
the St. Louis Cathedral. Archbishop Aymond will
preside. Those who gather will be invited to pray
for those who serve the Archdiocese as priests, sisters, brothers and deacons.
ANNULMENT WRITING WORKSHOP
Periodically the Archdiocese offers a writing workshop for persons seeking an annulment in the Catholic Church or for persons responding to an annulment. The next workshop will be held at Our Lady
of Perpetual Help Church in Belle Chasse. The workshop series takes place on five Tuesdays, beginning
May 12 and continuing through June 9, with each
session running from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. There
is a $25 fee for materials. For more information,
you may contact Fr. Reale in the parish office (5291477, ext. 243) or Cathy Francis at the Archdiocesan
Office of the Family Life Apostolate (861-6243).

As we continue to thank God for those individuals
(Jenna McKinnie, Chase Rushing, & Scott Schneider)
who were received into the Catholic Church at this
year’s Easter Vigil, we also give thanks for Natalya
Patrikeeva who this weekend also joins the Church.
We pray for all of them, as well as for the high
school students who were confirmed by Archbishop
Aymond in our church this past Tuesday.
VISITING IMMACULATE CONCEPTION?
Welcome! We are happy you are with us. If you
would like to read about the art and architecture of
our historic building, we invite you to consult the
brochure found at the back of the church.
CHURCH TOURS
A 30-minute docent-led tour of our church takes
place every Saturday afternoon beginning at 3:15
p.m. Also, with advance notice, tours can be arranged for visiting groups at other times by contacting the parish office. Learn more about our
church where Mass was first celebrated in 1857.
PLEASE CONSIDER …
… serving our parish as a lector, extraordinary minister of Holy Communion, altar server, or usher / hospitality minister. Additional extraordinary ministers
of Holy Communion are very much needed for the
7:30 p.m. Sunday Mass, although there are opportunities to serve at all the Masses. To serve as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, the Archdiocese requires participation in a training workshop. The next two are scheduled for Saturday,
May 9 (at Our Lady of the Rosary) and on Saturday,
May 16 (at Visitation of Our Lady). Each runs from 9
a.m. to 1 p.m. If interested in any of these ministries, please contact Fr. Reale or Fr. Tesvich soon.
