Note from the Principal
A child’s teacher is one of the most important aspects of a child’s success
in school. While all teachers at Jay Shideler Elementary are highly qualified, we
understand that certain teaching styles work better for certain students. If your
student learns best through a particular teaching style or personality, please let
me know in writing, email is best. We will try to match student and teacher styles
when creating classes. I cannot accept requests for individual teachers. If you
have any questions, please contact me. I will need to hear from you by May 15.
With the end of the school year approaching this is a nice time to remind you
that enrollment for next year may be completed online, as well as pay all fees
online. Enrollment this year will be at one central location for the entire district;
Washburn Rural High School on July 29, 30 and 31. If you are new to the district,
you must come to the physical enrollment at the high school during those dates.
Please make certain to keep your child’s lunch money account current. Your
child(ren) cannot have a negative balance at year end. If you have any leftover
money it automatically rolls over to next year, even if your child will be leaving
Jay Shideler to attend WRMS. Remember you can pay these online as well.
The last day of school is May 22 and will be our Super Sports Day. Kindergarten recognition will be on May 8. Sixth grade recognition will be on May 21 at
11:30 a.m. Check the calendar for other important dates and times.
Thank you to everyone for making this year at Jay Shideler a very rewarding
and enjoyable one. What a great place this is! We look forward to a great May
and the end of school for this year; as well as a new beginning for 2015-16.
For those leaving us to attend WRMS, you will be missed. If Jay Shideler is the
only school your child has attended, I’m VERY proud to have been his/her only
principal during that time. Have a fun and safe summer, we’ll see returnees next
August. I hope this was the best year ever for you and your children!
Proud to be a Blue Jay,

thank you!
PTO wants to thank Denise Wilkerson and
team and all her 6th grade helpers for doing
such a great job with Kindergarten Round
Up. You guys make this such a fun time for
the kids and it really gives new parents a
great first impression of Jay Shideler.
Your classroom parents will be in touch soon about how
you can help show appreciation to your child’s teacher. Any
questions contact Angela Warth (208)240-0133 robnang@
